Professional Biography

James is a Partner in the Private Client team. He specialises in succession planning, family governance, UK tax and crypto law. His clients include high net worth individuals, entrepreneurs, trustees, family offices and private banks. He is experienced in matters of domicile, residence, the remittance basis for non-UK domiciliaries, trust/foundation structuring, Will preparation and the establishment of family vehicles and investment companies. He advises clients on the full spectrum of their assets, whether it be UK real estate, their businesses, artwork or crypto-assets (being one of the first lawyers to develop an expertise in this area). Indeed he is well known-for his cryptoassets practice, advising clients on their private and commercial affairs. A lot of his work has an international element, in particular advising clients in the Middle East, where he travels frequently.
