SIGNIFICANT CASES
Advising a private client in the English High Court involving claims that members of her family wrongly conspired to deprive her of money, rights and interests in a large family owned business. The initial stages have involved a long running jurisdiction battle but the English Court has definitively taken jurisdiction and issued a rarely granted injunction to prohibit the pursuit of a foreign seated arbitration.
Advising a HNWI and a Jersey trustee in relation to a Cayman Islands derivative claim brought by Russian oligarch Viktor Vekselberg and his corporate investment company, Renova, in relation to the alleged misappropriation of assets from a private equity fund. The case involved both breach of directors’ duties and knowing receipt claims.
