What has been the highlight of your practice over the past 12 months?

Advising a client who had been called to provide evidence in relation to US fraud proceedings. This was the first time that our local Court had permitted a witness to be cross examined by US Attorneys and for the evidence to be videoed. It was an extremely interesting case and it was great to work alongside brilliant US tax attorneys. Ensuring that our client was thoroughly prepared and as calm and reassured as possible was really rewarding and very much appreciated by the client in a stressful situation

How did you get into private client?

I have always been interested in private client and helping individuals, versus corporates. From law school, it was an elective that I chose straight away. I have had a particular interest in trusts.

What advice would you give rising stars/new lawyers in the private client world?

Be yourself, the importance of authenticity and sincerity cannot be overstated in the private client world.

What is your favourite quote?

I really do not have a favourite quote- in which case I will have to borrow from my Dad who always said: “Do your best and mind your manners” – and I don’t think you can go far wrong on that!

Do you have any outside interests or hobbies?

Trying to train my dog. I also really enjoy hill walking and being outside. I also love to travel.

When the restaurants reopen, where would you like to go?

I like all steak houses- I don’t discriminate!
