What advice would you give a trainee just starting out?

Don't feel you have to spend your whole career in an English law firm if you don't want to. You can practise your private client law by Caribbean beaches or Asian skyscrapers. My offshore career has given me lifetime friends and many memories.

What is the most unusual or shocking request you've ever had from a client?

A privilege of private client is that my practice has stretched from cerebral trust structures to drafting funeral eulogies and being the first to attend a deceased person's home.

What's your favourite midnight snack when you're in late from the office?

Whilst working in the Cayman Islands it was the tastiest outdoor jerk chicken and pork shack on the drive home from the office.

What do you do when you're not working? Any hobbies?

In the Caribbean I enjoyed performing in drama and pantomime on the beach and in other unusual locations. These days we live in the countryside and have two dogs and four sheep
