What has been the highlight of your practice over the past 12 months?

I have been on maternity leave for the past year, having just returned to the office. While I was on maternity leave, I was promoted to Legal Director.

How did you get into private client?

I was drawn to will and trust disputes during my final year as a trainee. Upon qualification, I completed the ACTAPS course and built up enquiries in this area by re-writing the section of my then firm's website. The more I worked in the area, the more that I loved it. I moved to BDB Pitmans LLP in 2013 and have specialised since then.

What advice would you give rising stars/new lawyers in the private client world?

Try to get out there and network with your peers as they will be the next partners.

What is your favourite quote?

“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose,” Dr Seuss.

Do you have any outside interests or hobbies?

When I have free time, and I have very little of it due to having two young children, I like to garden. During lockdown, we started a vegetable patch in our garden with the kids. We have enjoyed watching everything grow and eating everything as soon as it is ready. We are closely watching the pumpkins growing for Hallowe'en. I love baking and I make a mean carrot cake. I also love to sing but that is mostly limited to nursery rhymes and old Irish lullabies these days!

When the restaurants reopen, where would you like to go?

My husband's pizza is excellent so I have to say My Dining Room.
