What has been the highlight of your practice over the past 12 months?

I defended the first data access request by a beneficiary in Dawson-Damer v Taylor Wessing. My team and I are at the forefront of this evolving area in disclosure and the application of privilege to such data access requests. The decision has been one of the most talked about in the field of trust litigation in 2017. It remains a live issue and continues to be a real highlight of mine to be playing a key role in such a new and evolving area of law.

What advice would you give rising stars/new lawyers in the private client world?

Be ambitious and do not be afraid to challenge yourself. Put yourself forward for projects even if you fear them. Go out of your way to get to know the people you are working with and also against. But most importantly also keep a sense of humour!

What is your favourite quote?

"What will survive of us is love," Philip Larkin.
