What has been the highlight of your practice over the past 12 months?

Growing my practice in the Middle East.

How did you get into private client?

I've been interested in private client since I was a student, and wrote my thesis at University on International Finance Centres. If private client was not an option, I would never have become a lawyer - it was private client or nothing for me.

What advice would you give rising stars/new lawyers in the private client world?

Anyone setting out in the industry should do their best to make a prediction about where the world will be in 20-30 years. The world is rapidly changing and someone entering the industry can get ahead if they take a long-view. It is not just technological change (although that is already transformative) but political change. Look at the big global trends and make an informed assessment about where that leaves you as a private client advisor at the time when your career is in the ascendency.

What is your favourite quote?

”The Earth is yours and the fullness thereof.' Enter upon your inheritance, accept your responsibilities! You will make all kinds of mistakes; but as long as you are generous and true, and also fierce, you cannot hurt the world or even seriously distress her. She was made to be wooed,” Winston Churchill

Do you have any outside interests or hobbies?

For the last few years I've been researching and writing a book on Winston Churchill's tenure as Chancellor of the Exchequer. I hope one day to finish it! Music is a big part of my life. I sing in a chamber choir and play in two bands (one of which is country and western, which is all good fun).

When the restaurants reopen, where would you like to go?

I've been enjoying Rowley's on Jermyn Street of late
