What has been the highlight of your practice over the past 12 months?

I was fortunate enough to go on secondment to a leading law firm in Bermuda for six months, which was a fantastic opportunity. I worked on several high value trust structures spanning multiple jurisdictions, and also got involved with some litigious matters. A beautiful place with lovely people and very interesting work!

How did you get into private client?

I enjoyed studying trust law at university so I wanted to do a seat in private client as a trainee. I thoroughly enjoyed my seat and decided to qualify into private client - a decision I haven't regretted!

What advice would you give rising stars/new lawyers in the private client world?

The best advice I have been given is that as you become more senior it is your chance to shape your career - no one else will do it for you. Try and keep a cool head - the best partners to work for are those that are unflappable, and you should be the same as an assistant. Look for mentors in your firm that can help you navigate your career.

What is your favourite quote?

“You make your own luck,” Ernest Hemingway.

Do you have any outside interests or hobbies?

Mainly taking my 1 year old son to the park to go on his scooter!

When the restaurants reopen, where would you like to go?

Trullo in Highbury - a fantastic Italian restaurant!
