What has been the highlight of your practice over the past 12 months?

Establishing roots in my English practice and extending my cross-border practice to embrace more onshore matters.

How did you get into private client?

I qualified in 1998 with Allen & Overy who majored in finance and banking. I thought the bespoke nature and challenges of private client would sustain me for a lifetime. I enjoyed the transactional work and the structure of a banking product, but I much preferred the bespoke solution being applied to the individual and looking at how the individual lives and the laws applying to them worked in a globalised world.

What advice would you give rising stars/new lawyers in the private client world?

Whatever life throws in your path, sidestep it and keep ploughing the same furrow.

What is your favourite quote?

“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of thing shall be well." Lady Julian of Norwich.

Do you have any outside interests or hobbies?

I spend a lot of time in Italy. I have also shipped my horse back to the UK – I enjoy riding and I am back in the saddle again.

When the restaurants reopen, where would you like to go?

The restaurants in Como, Italy.
