Kate Clouston, Deputy CEO – Guernsey Finance
Kate joined Guernsey Finance in April 2015 and is responsible for leading international business development work in South East Asia, North America and Europe, with a particular focus on evaluating and developing new geographical markets. She is also involved in identifying and implementing development strategies around emerging financial products and attracting new companies to Guernsey. Kate, who can speak six languages including Chinese and Arabic, has previous experience as a Programme Head for the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI), the independent British think tank engaged in cutting edge defence and security research, as a Media Analyst for Edelman StrategyOne and as a Senior Researcher at the House of Commons.

Alasdair McLaren, Client Services Director – First Names Group
Alasdair McLaren is a director of First Names Guernsey Limited and has thirty years of experience in the international private client trust world.

He specialises in working with international families and their advisors on more complex solutions and has recently been involved in establishing charitable foundations for Middle East clients and creating international holding structures for private equity investors.
In addition to managing a diverse portfolio of clients Alasdair is a regular speaker at conferences.

Alasdair recently stepped down as Chair of the Guernsey Branch of STEP but continues to be the Guernsey representative on STEP Worldwide Council. He is also a committee member of the Guernsey Association of Trustees and sits on their technical subcommittee plus other industry working parties. In addition to being a TEP, Alasdair is also a member of the IOD, a Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Fellow of CISI.

Lisa Vizia, Director – Saffery Champness Registered Fiduciaries
Lisa heads up a dedicated Family Office Team in Guernsey, which manages offshore structures for ultra-high net worth families, with a particular focus on the Middle East. She is involved in:
• Family office and private trust arrangements.
• Middle Eastern structures and family clients with an understanding of Shari’a Law and the devolution of Middle Eastern Estates in conjunction with trust and company structures.
• Dealing with non-standard assets including aircraft, yachts, art, antiquities and jewellery.
• Dealing with non-standard investments including hotel development and operations, private businesses, hedge funds and private equity.
• Complex trust structures for ultra-high net worth individuals and family trusts for UK resident non-domiciled individuals.

Lisa is also involved in business development for the fiduciary business and leads the Guernsey office’s headline Corporate Social Responsibility initiative.

Born and educated in Guernsey, Lisa has worked in the trust industry since 1986. She joined Saffery Champness Registered Fiduciaries in 2010, having previously worked for a leading bank-owned international trust company.

Lisa’s recent accolades include being recognised as a Top 20 Trustee on the 2017 Citywealth Leaders List; awarded Trustee of the Year at the 2017 Citywealth Magic Circle Awards; listed as a 2017 Citywealth IFC Top 200 Power Woman; won the Silver Award at Citywealth’s Power Women Awards for Women of the year: Business Growth (Professional Services) 2017.

Lisa has also been appointed as a presiding judge for the 2017/18 STEP Private Client Awards.

Lisa is a Member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), the Institute of Directors (IoD) and the International Wealth Structuring Committee (IWSC) of the Family Office Advisers Forum.

Andrew Walters, Director – Trust Corporation
Andrew is an Advocate of the Royal Court of Guernsey and was called to the Bar of the Inner Temple before subsequently qualifying as a Solicitor. Prior to joining Trust Corporation International, he was a Partner of Mourant Ozannes, one of the world’s largest offshore law firms. Before that he practised with the London office of international law firm, Hogan Lovells. Andrew has previously served as an Executive Director and General Counsel of another independent fiduciary company based in Guernsey.

Andrew is an experienced corporate lawyer and specialises in the structuring, establishment and operation of offshore investment vehicles including cellular and non-cellular companies, trusts, foundations and limited partnerships. He has a detailed knowledge of the legal and regulatory frameworks underpinning the operation and management of such structures and has acted as a Director of numerous regulated and unregulated offshore companies.

Whilst in private practice, Andrew was identified as a leading lawyer by the International Financial Law Review and as a recognised individual by Chambers and Partners. He has been featured in a range of other industry directories including The Legal 500, PLC Which Lawyer and Chambers UK.  His work has been published in various journals including Butterworth’s Offshore Legal Service and The International Journal of Business and Finance.

Andrew is a member of the Law Society of England and Wales and the Guernsey Bar and holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Legal Skills.

Emmalene Holden, Associate Director – Albany Trustee Company Limited
Emmalene joined Albany Trustee in 2012. Prior to joining Albany Trustee, Emmalene held roles with Royal Bank of Canada and Rawlinson & Hunter Limited in Guernsey and was also Company Management Officer with a Swiss Trust Company based in Geneva, where she specialised in managing a large corporate real estate structure.

Emmalene has over 10 years experience in the offshore trust and company administration industry and holds the STEP Diploma in International Trust Management and STEP Certificate in Foundations. Emmalene is also a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.

Emmalene’s role at Albany Trustee includes responsibility for a number of international HNW & UHNW client structures across a variety of asset classes and jurisdictions with a specialism for commercial real estate.
